Get your flu jab now!

As winter approaches, flu jabs have became available. With around 22 million people eligible for a free jab - including but not limited to social workers, hospice staff and those over the age of 65- there is no reason not to get it and keep yourself safe from flu.

If you are over the age of 65, you may have approached your GP and been unable to get the vaccine on that visit. It is recommended that you ring ahead and book an appointment with your GP surgery or pharmacy.

Those over the age of 65 will also be offered the adjuvanted trivalent vaccine (aTIV) for the first time. This is designed to boost the body's immune response and improve the effectiveness of the flu vaccine in the older age group.
