Healthwatch Somerset Launch Good Practice in Care Homes Guides

Representatives from care homes, the county council, borough council, Musgrove Park and volunteer groups joined with Rebecca Pow MP and Healthwatch Somerset to celebrate the launch of a series of guides outlining good practice in care homes last week.

Chancellor Praises Taunton Deane MP

The Chancellor has this week praised Rebecca Pow MP for Taunton Deane for pushing to secure the funding needed for the upgrade of the A358 and for highlighting the benefits of doing business in the southwest.

EU Membership Positive for UK Environment

The Environmental Audit Committee has produced a report stating that EU membership has been a crucial factor in shaping UK environmental policy. Taunton Deane MP Rebecca Pow, who is a member of the cross party Committee, helped produce the report that concluded that EU and UK policy on such things as air and water pollution and biodiversity is inextricably linked.

Rebecca Pow: My Views on the European Referendum

I have deliberated long and hard over my decision regarding Europe. I have spoken to some key businesses in Taunton Deane as well as people, the more elderly, farmers and those passionate about the environment. I have also had individual meetings with Michael Gove and David Cameron, both of whom I have a great deal of respect for. There are convincing arguments on both sides and whatever the outcome of the referendum I shall play my part in doing the best, not just for Taunton Deane, but also for the nation. This is after all an individual vote. It was a manifesto promise (no other party offered this) and people are now getting this opportunity to have their say.

Taunton Deane MP Backs Bristol Airport

This week Rebecca Pow MP wrote to the Chancellor urging him to scrap plans to devolve Air Passenger Duty (APD) to Wales which would allow Cardiff Airport to run cheaper flights, undercutting Bristol Airport.
